Nothing new here. Every idea borrowed from somewhere over time. Still fun!

I'm pretty much just celebrating the first wave of surf music in all my writing since coming into the genre a little over a year ago. I wrote this piece about three months into my venture in when I found enough reverb and clean headroom in my playing to actually sound like surf. These riffs are borrowed from somewhere for sure as most music tends to be.

Many of the first wave recordings don't have complexity in their engineering and production and i'm following the same path. I don't fuss over finding the perfect sound because time is hard to find for all this. I do want to have punch to it but ultimately I want it to just be surf like everything else in surf.

SG 101 is incredible in the fact that many of the artists that have in the past and still today, contribute music to this great genre frequent the forums and may even hear my music. Artists that I admire greatly. It is a little intimidating but might not exist in other genre's. You sure can't post music to David Gilmour's website and expect him to listen to it.

Thanks to all that listen to my music!

How cool is that! Thanks much to you Brian! I know that I can't get enough surf and so others on here feel the same way. If they consider my music surfable then wow...WOW!!!

I don't know if you know Stratdancer, because you are somewhat new around here, but we do a SG101 member's MP3 compilation every year. I hope you consider submitting a track (it's all just for fun), you'd be perfect for it. Stay tuned we'll probably announce it next month.

I like it man! It has a very "alright people, wake the hell up!" feel to it.

Suggestion for the comp submission if I may be so bold.
Cool

Thanks Wes! Glad you enjoyed it. Got another one tracking now with much the same feel to it.
