So I went on Youtube to bone up on "Journey To The Stars" for an upcoming gig, and ran across this. Ouch!
Trust me, every band has their share of clams, I've had mine for sure, but, dag nabbitt, don't post it on Youtube for God Sakes! ;D

Things you don't want to hear isolated, any of those tracks. Don's tone sounds like a guitar straight into a (crummy)board...

Billy,
Where is the flub?
Or do you mean the introduction of the wrong song title?
The really sad thing is you don't have a best of Ventures cd
With Journey to the stars on it.

No. I think the song title flub was cute. The bridge section of the song made me cringe where it goes from the root chord Am to A, D, Db, F, E, transition thing, or maybe somebody's guitar is seriously out of tune, but hey, it's all good. I recovered.

Marty will imply it is an internet hoax, like those fake guitar solos people make.
The most diplomatic thing you can say about that take is "They've played it better before".
Fun story related to the song title flub... The last three 'Verb gigs we've done three setters and each set list has had a theme of a movie trilogy, Star Wars, Star Trek, and the 'Verb movie trilogy. And I changed all of the song titles to fit the theme of the movie and just barely have something in common with the original song title.
Needless to say... I was skipping quite a few tracks. For the second set of the 'Verb Movie trilogy the movie was "The 'Verb in the Case of Jake's Tiki Freaky" and every title had the word tiki in it... you can't quickly glance down and find the next song. It was torture!

More sloppy playing contrasted with the master: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KdFRku97jE
The Ventures, most members playing is really spotty in the past couple decades. Really abysmal tone as well, bad dynamics. Are their amps above 2? It sure doesn't sound like it. I'd be playing abysmally if my guitar sounded as lifeless as theirs.
