Holy Sh*t!!!! I just saw a posting on the Pollo Del Mar
website that the Madeira is playing the Hotel Utah in
San Francisco on July 30!!! Yeeeeeee........ow!!!!!!!!!!
I was planning a road trip to Huntington Beach which
may not (???) be necessary now. I can't say how thrilled
I am that this GREAT band is coming out West. Ivan, I
hope you guys hire a bodyguard so that your drummer
doesn't break any more bones between now and then.
And I hope you can bring your new rig out here. I know
we're all dying to hear this wonderful beast of an
amplifier. If you can't bring your gear out, I'm sure
there will be no shortage of great gear at your disposal.
I gotta go..... I'm so damn happy i just pee'd my pants!

Hey Bob! Thanks for your over-the-top enthusiasm, we greatly appreciate it! And sorry to be the cause of your little incident... :oops2:
Yes indeed we'll be playing Hotel Utah with Pollo Del Mar AND Slacktone! We're also playing Nevada City the night before with the Pyronauts (I think that has been confirmed), which is also much closer than Huntington Beach!
We'll keep a close eye on our drummer, don't worry... Sadly, my new rig will be staying home. It's too risky to try to ship it there, as far as damaging it, and just way too expensive. But I'm sure whatever amp is provided will be just fine to get some decent sounds out of and for you to enjoy.
Looking forward to meeting you! Hell, I'm just excited as a bee about the whole tour! We all can't wait...

I may have jumped the gun by posting that info on the Pollo website, and I feel like a fool, as I asked Ivan not to talk about it until everything is totally confirmed (as in, the plane tickets are purchased). My apologies to Ivan. We still have one more show to confirm for the Madeira California tour, but everything is looking great so far. More info to come.

No need to feel like a fool, Ferenc! I think we're all very excited about the shows, and it's difficult to not shout the dates to the world. I know that's my problem, anyway. But I'll keep my mouth shut for a little while longer.

To Bob,
I still suggest taking the week off, and coming down as there are going to be too many killer shows like 5 or 6 if I'm counting right.
And now that I've heard about the Nor. Cal. shows I might even have to plan a road trip up thatta way also.
I'm sorry I'm just a sucker for supersurfsummits.
will have to see how the finances and gas prices look at the time.
To, Ferenc, and all the other bands, thanks for helping to bring them out.
Next plan of attack is Satans Pilgrims in SF LA and SD, ok,.. GO!!

Can't wait for the Madeira tour either...I'll try to make all the So-Cal shows. Well, there's one I have to be at no matter what.
BTW, people I suggest that if you can come to So-Cal, check out the San Diego show, not because I'm trying to promote my band, but because in the past, these shows at the Whistle Stop have had a big turnout, which is a fun thing.

By the way. It isn't a West Coast tour if you don't stop in Seattle . . .

Jake, my man! Sorry, buddy, but we never called it 'West Coast Tour,' but simply 'California tour.' Maybe you can come down? Any chance?

Nope. No chance. We might actually be in the studio while you guys are down there.

We are getting the place for three days at the discounted price of $500 a day. Normally costs $1200 a day. It is a pretty awesome studio. Pearl Jam's done four records there, Dave Matthews, Deftones, Presidents, REM, and name other large Seattle based bands.

Jake, it's too bad there's no chance you'll come down to see the shows, but man, that's a KICKASS studio! Really cool. Did you know that it's owned by one of Pearl Jam guitarists? I wonder if he'll be recording and/or engineering you? Though I'm really not a fan of that band, I know that at least they are into surfing (they appeared on the soundtrack to Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer video game - the Cossacks also had a song on there). So, it'll be really interesting to see how this works out. Good luck! I CAN'T WAIT to hear the 'Verb recorded well and sporting the three-guitar lineup!

I knew Stone Gossard owned the studio. He will be on tour while we are recording the album so he won't be around. Pearl Jam did a song called Gremmie Out of Control in which there is surf guitar. Stone Gossard used a reverb unit as part of his rig for awhile after they did the album with Neil Young. Supposedly the engineer we are getting works for Barsuk records. That is pretty big. Barsuk has done Death Cab for Cutie and Rilo Kiley. I am excited for that.

Ivan, let me add my voice to those experiencing the sheer ecstasy brought on by the thought of the lineup for that show at Hotel Utah. I'll be looking forward to the final confirmation of the gig, so I can let out my breath and start my countdown to July 30. This will definitely help make up for me missing the SP/Nebs/'Verb show earlier.
If I can be of any help while you're in the SF Bay area, don't hesitate to ask.

Jake , you think you have it bad. Try having a yiddish word in your band's name.
