I can't wait. The Portland crowd is much better than the Seattle crowd.
Kyle, Mike and I want to come down a little early to hang out. Mike said we'd leave here around 2. Is this cool?

Now you're saying that. I bet in '92 you and all the rest of the Pilgrims were clad in your best flannel and coming up to Seattle every weekend. Question, which Pilgrim does the best Eddie Vedder impersonation?

I thought you would agree, Jake. You are always praising Portland :D.
In 92 we were already playing surf and playing Seattle meant putting up with hair band sound guys and idiots trying to stage dive while we played. Dave probably does the best Eddie Vedder, but when it came to Seattle bands of the time, we were more in touch with bands like Young Fresh Fellows, Fastbacks, U-Men and Gas Huffer.
Anyway, as you said, I think Portland's a lot more receptive to surf and always has been. Maybe it's because we're a little closer to CA. And I should say Oregon instead of just Portland because there were and are great surf bands keeping it alive since the 60s in Salem, Eugene, on the coast and all over the state, as seen on this very board.
Btw, my mom was born in Seattle and her family has roots there going back to the 1890s. What's really funny was hearing my grandmother talk about how fantastic Tacoma was in the old days and how she wished she could live there instead of Seattle. lol
SP loves Seattle especially after that Tractor show. Thanks again for the help with flyers!

Well, no weenies in the warp drive as it was just a drive across town for me A fun night of reverb and blond backlines. The Splash Downs (guitar, bass drums), with Kyle on bass, were a nice surprise - Where have I seen Chad, lead guitar, before? The 'Verb were great fun, sporting 7 new songs. I really like Eric's trumpet as well as his great leads. Jake shared the artwork from their upcoming June release 'Reverbed For Your Pleasure' - sweet! Looking forward to that one. And the Verbtones... I think that they have more fun than any of us. Too bad they shut them down at 12:30 - I guess that's the rules in the neighborhood. Maybe it was Steve's stripper joke A great way to wrap up the week. Thanx to all three bands for making it happen.
