Interesting, I'm assuming that is the early line up.
But not sure, it could be the current line up
Coming to the sg101 convention.

Ferenc?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Translation doesn't help much.

Since 1995, CD single. Surfside village album with a different MIX. In the same year, UNO CM song. Ocean theme

Wow, what a find!!

This is the original lineup, which recorded the debut album, Surfside Village, the Intruder EP, and the Surface Impressions album. This is a different mix of the song than the one on the Surfside Village album - I think the mix that came out on the single (and later on the best-of).

Cool. Shigeo plays a Fender Vibroverb in the vid?
And the rhythm guitar girl a Yamaha TA60 amp.

The SGV of Shigeo looks like an own created one with Fender trem unit.

The yellow Yamaha banana bass is also really rare!

Great song.

Twang cheers!

Billy, what you're just sayin' ain't right! ;) The four-piece line-up in these videos WAS the original lineup, recording their first three albums and Intruder EP. Shigeo replaced everybody in the band starting with the album Surfdelic, but the band was STILL a 4-piece, as it was on their following, self-titled album. It was only after that that they became a 3-piece, starting with the Surf Is Dead album, their sixth full-length. And even that didn't stick, as they later recorded two more albums as a four-piece, but this time with a organ player rather than a rhythm guitar. In a recent live video, they once again had a rhythm guitar player, so we'll see what lineup shows up in California in August!

I guess I'm referring to the last time I saw them here in Calif. years back. That 3 piece Shigeo had was jaw dropping. 3 monsters with a killer sound. It was perfect.

Be careful following the masses. Sometimes the "M" is silent...........................

Yep, Nobuhiro and Naotaka allowed Shigeo to play the way he did, they were a dynamite combo.

Translation Edit:

Those two guys sure made Shigeo look good!

Reminder to myself, I must write in an American accent Big Grin

Well considering that everybody he's played with has been no slouch.
I would assume his new band isn't bad either.
Come check them out at the SG101 convention,
Sat. Aug, 9th,
So Cal baby!

Jeff(bigtikidude)

It will be a four piece we'll see in August. This is the quartet that recorded the new album.

It's funny, but I have been more worried about the details of their trip, rather than the new album... Here's what I think is going on, and I have asked for clarification..
As of today, June 18, a new 2 disc compilation, "ANTHOLOGY ~20th Anniversary Collection" has been released in Japan. As you can tell from the album cover, it keeps with the theme of their previous best of releases.
You can download the album from iTunes Japan:
Looking at the song titles, and from what I gather of the press release, there is atleast one new song here, recorded with the new drummer and rhythm guitarist (Kuri remains on bass.) I thought they had recorded a whole new record, not just a few songs, so I'm checking on that.
Another thing about the videos above, they have been fairly recently released on YouTube, which is why we never saw them before. I know there are many more videos from that era, including footage of them when they first performed on Ibisu Onsen, the show that started their career.

Following up, Surf coasters have no plans for a new album. They would like to record one but it's not happening as of now.
