Tailpiece and bridge for a 12 string build

I'm slowly sourcing the parts for a Jazzmaster XII/Janglemaster build. I've been reading I can use a standard jazzmaster floating style bridge fine but what should I use for a tailpiece? I reckon using a standard tremolo would send the guitar horribly out of tune. |

I would recommend a Strat XII bridge/tailpiece assembly if you plan to go without vibrato. The XII setup gives you intonatiom adjustments on all twelve strings, and through the body loading. |

I ended up getting a 12 string tailpiece custom cut for a jazzmaster body.
New question: should I get the Curtis Novak 12 string pickups for authenticity or go for the new AVRI 65' soap bar pickups? Edit: I'm going to be using a standard jazzmaster floating bridge. I hear they work fine for a 12 string build. Last edited: Jun 23, 2014 14:47:39 |

Wow, that thing is cool! The front of those slots look sharp so you might need to smooth those out if strings start to break there. —If it ain't broke, fix it until it is. |

Gonna go with the AVRI 65' pickups. Almost $150 cheaper than novak pickups and it will be easier to route the body. |
