Hi there you all!
So this was the situation; i had one shure sm57 and two rode condenser mics. The mission was to record a song in a terrible sounding 9m2 room, live of course. I used the sm57 to mic the guitar amp, one rode on the drums and the another for the bass.
So i got three tracks. I mixed the song with Reaper and some NI plug-ins. I would love some feedback for the job, because I'm not too experienced in recording in such circumstances!
I'm new here, so I hope this is a right place to post this

Hey Kata,
Yeah... not sure how to tell you this... but you did a REALLY GOOD job. I've heard way worse jobs come out of professional studios with multiple mics on the drums and isolation on each amp.
And most importantly, the song is actually good! You had really great dynamics to the song, kudos.
Looking forward to hearing more from you and your band.

Kool! Love the energy, great riffs, sounds fine.
I quit going for perfect in the studio; it squashes the good energy and creativity imho.

But the best thing about being a musician is that music, both as a band and by yourself, is your social life!

I know what you mean. Maybe some types of music should be recorded in a somewhat 'crappy' way. To boost the vibe

Congrats on the great song, it sound perfect! All the great classics were recorded this way and they still sound good!
And since I'm a big Bo Diddley-fan, I noticed the Bo Gretsch model. Must be a first here on SG101! Sounds great!

Don't know how I missed this but...
GREAT mixing job & a cool song too! Looking forward to hearing more. If you got that vibe out of that room, that's a 'sound' (mix) to file away when you want it again. Really enjoyed the song.
Glad to have you at SG101.

Alright; I guess true replies are the best.
Sound: Good energy in the sound. But the ride (or crash?) cymbals from the drums are killing my ears a bit…
All in all I love the energy of the song but the main "melody" is a bit boring for me…
For me too much riffing.
But nice little harmony changes. Sounded more like from alternative rock than surf, but that`s absolutely ok!
I like the drum action.
Go Go!!!
— Twang cheers!

Don't touch the micks and just continue recording until you finish the Album.......that's it.
