Permalink The Atlantics playing "Wedding Cake Island"

New Topic

This was recorded in early 2006 and is taken from The Atlantics DVD "Live at Freshwater".

It was originally recorded and written by Midnight Oil.

BTW, Wedding Cake Island is the name of a clump of rocks off of Coogee Beach near Sydney.

Killer !! Thanks for posting! Cool

Just fantastic! Love it! The boys firing on all cylinders! Thanks very much for sharing, Martin!

How many songs did you do for that whole project? I know Bombora and one or two other songs also ended up in the film - was there anything you did that was cut out?

The track listing for The Atlantics "Live at Freshwater" is -
1. Ticket to Rio 2. Cossack Beach 3. One More Summer 4. Night Star 5. Wedding Cake Island 6. Riff A Go Go 7. Bombora

This was a little wind up performance we did at the end of the "Delightful Rain" project. The 7 songs on the Live at Freshwater DVD is everything we played that time. There was much more recorded for Delightful Rain, including our rehearsals, that has not surfaced yet.
Also the versions on the Delightful Rain CD & DVD are different to the Live at Freshwater DVD recordings.

Love it! Thumbs Up

Oops, Martin, I confused those two! (Well, I don't have either DVD.) What Atlantics songs are in the Delightful Rain film?

Thanks!

That was cool.
Thanks for posting.

I wonder if the guys in the Break/ ex Midnite oil,
Still play it?
Do they do any Atlantics songs?

Jeff(bigtikidude)

As a huge Midnight Oil fan, I approve. Well done. I think the Break does play that song, I saw a video last year. At the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara I sat in on a Midnight Oil rehearsal (sans Garrett) and asked Martin Rotsey if they would play it, he just smiled and said that was too long ago.
