Hello again friends,

I am the second owner of this killer rig. Got it from the daughter of the bass player of the Jolly Green Giants from Tacoma. It is in great condition, and it is loud. IT has the tight, focused response of a blackface, as opposed to a brown face Showman, and the D-140's are wonderful for surf. Seriously, it is loud. The only reason I am selling is that at one time I had five Showman setups, and I have to downsize. Most of the Phantom Surfers gigs these days are not in locations that necessitate having five rigs on stage! haha.

$1800 OBO. I am in SoCal. I can ship this, but it will be expensive. However, it needs to go, so get the real deal. I'm telling you, I know Showmans. You will not regret purchasing this.

Friends,

Maybe you can help me here. I have posted this amp several times with no response at all. Can someone tell me what is wrong? Price? The fact that is is a 66? I am a bit baffled that there has been no interest in this, as it is a killer, ready to go rig with excellent pedigree. Help a fella out! Thanks in advance.

Phantom Surfers

just a guess on my part here,
the d-140s are usually bass speakers.

If I had the money I would buy it.
good luck.

Mel,

IMO, it boils down to the current economy. I don't think the D140's are an issue as they work fine with guitar or bass.

Based on my experience, higher-ticket items like your Showman are a harder sell here. Craigslist is probably your best bet or a consignment at a reputable vintage guitar shop. I'm fortunate to have a local shop here that I've developed a great relationship with. They have moved some fairly pricey items for me that I had advertised on SG101 with no response. This week I'm dropping off a old Fender guitar, P-bass and an amp with them and they will probably be gone within a month.

If I were a rich man...

In addition to Norm's great advice, Mel, you might also put it on reverb.com and indicate shipping restrictions. FWIW, a friend of mine was totally unable to sell a Lennon Casino for over a year and it sold on reverb.com in under a week.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

All good advice friends. Thanks so much. And Jeff, the d-140s kill for surf.

THanks!
