I hope everyone there has a wonderful time. I really wish I could be there.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Heading down now. I'll be bringing a handful of out-of-print Ghastly Ones CDs with me if anyone is interesting in picking one up in the merch room. See ya there!

I'm sure everyone is probably at the WinterFest right now, but does anyone know of any other surf shows happening NEXT weekend? My group will be down wading through the nasty at the NAMM show, and we are looking for some reverb on Friday or Saturday nights.

Any tips would be much appreciated!

Holden, you might want to peruse the show announcements forum, look at our calendar, or start a separate thread. On our calendar you can see that Outerwave is playing next weekend at Don The Beachcombers.

Fun day. My fave moment was Norm pulling a Spicoli & jumping up onstage when the Volcanics were playing "Woolly Bully." Completely appropriate.

I loved all the Bands but Seeing and Hearing "The Sand Devils" was My Fave and LouAnn loved Meshugga Beach Party. Norm jumping on stage and belting out some Vocals was interesting too. 10 Am to 7 PM is a long day sitting guard at the door and doing wrist bands for Band Members, Guests and Vendors too. Nice seeing lots of Friends and Surf Music fans. Matt Quilters new 4 wheel drive VW was outta sight. 1 of 5 in North America. Smile

Thanks for the kind words Craig!
I had tons of fun, the bands were excellent in my opinion.
Thanks to Jeff, Craig, LouAnn, Marie, Jonpaul, Tena, Sean, Matt, Dusty and everyone who contributed.

Being that there were no stage monitors, criss-crossing the cabs on the Surfers worked well, with one exception, I think that the "local" cabs for each amp should have been the ones I used for "remote", as those were a little louder.

What a great weekend!!!

Friday night with Meshugga Beach Party and Casino 66 was awesome, even if some drunken idiot flopped onto my table spilling all my drinks, lol. Great sets put on by both!

Saturday was awesome, as expected. Every band was awesome. High Tide playing so effortlessly and making it look easy. Boss Fink bringing some high octane instro (really digging the new sound, Norm! Cant wait for the upcoming release!). I loved the Volcanics old school rock n roll vibe, and that was a fun moment when Norm jumped on stage and belted out vocals with Frankie. Crazy! Then of course Meshugga Beach Party played an amazing and funny set. I have a hard time playing guitar as it is, I cant imagine doing it while jumping and dancing around in a beard! Sand Devils KILLED IT!! Damn I love that band. Ran's tone is so dark and powerful, and I was very honored when he dedicated Dark Surf to me as it is one of my fave songs! And then Jason Lee and his dancers took the stage and played so loud my ear plugs started smoking! What a powerful set, and I really dug the dancers. More bands need to do that, hint hint...

Then yesterday's Surfing Sunday at Suzy's was a lot of fun. Thanks to Billy for having The Counselors play, and thanks to all the other bands for putting on such a fun bunch of sets!!! It was an honor to share the stage with you guys!

Thanks to Jeff and everyone who helped make this weekend possible. So many bands and organizers and sponsors and venues and fans coming together to share the joy that is surf music PROVES that the BS in that other thread is wrong.

Surf lives strong!

SG101!

Thanks Guys!
And thanks again to Ran for amps n cabs.
Thanks to Matt Quilter for the bass cabs.
And thanks to Matt n Dusty for gettin that
Dick Dodd kit up n running for the gig.

Have to say the tone was the best I've heard yet, every instrument just sounded perfect. Six great bands and a whole lot of energy, great lineup. Now I need to find some time to listen to the swag I bought...

Lets see some pix of what people bought.

Just got back home to NorCal late last night - what a great weekend. My husband Ken, a KFJC friend Jack, and I all had a good time. A really enjoyable lineup of very good bands - lots of variety of sound. Possibly even more important were all memorable conversations, jokes, stories etc. An epic birthday celebration for me with a highlight of having Slacktone play a killer surf rendition of "Today is your birthday" at Don's at the Saturday evening show in my honor - still walking on air about that.

Thanks, BTD and everyone else who put hard work into making this happen.

Thanks again for coming Down Mary,
and again Happy B-day.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I'll take a pic of my haul when I get home from work.

Does anyone know where I can buy that 45 from the El Camino's that was for sale at one of the booths?

I took a chance on the CD and really like them.

From Eddie when he comes back in August.
