Permalink the Beat Tornados in Lillyhammer

My wife and decided to check out Netflix's original show Lilyhammer over the break, with Steven van Zandt in the lead role. Well, we love it! It's really fantastic. And the cherry on the top was that I heard three Beat Tornados tracks on the show, two in the first season finale, and one in the second season premiere (which is how far we've gotten with the show): the songs were Nokken Surfacing and The Griegster from their amazing Mission to Mir album, but I don't remember the name of the third one. Not surprising that anything that Little Steven is involved with would have great music, but it's an especially nice touch to use the Beat Tornados' music since they're from Norway, and the show of course takes place in Norway. Anyway, kudos to Steven van Zandt and the Lilyhammer production team! Hope to hear more!

He apparently signed them to his label "Wicked Cool Records" after hearing them in the shop "Angel's Speed Equipment" when visiting Oslo. He's been helping out several other Norwegian bands and has over the years become what we in norwegian would call a true "Norges-venn" (friend). Smile
"Lillyhammer" is set in Lillehammer who hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics, pretty nice small town.

I posted about that show in the "Hearing surf music in unexpected places" thread, although it should not be unexpected considering that Little Steven uses a ton of surf music in Underground Garage. In the same (2nd, season 2) episode there is a shot in the Flamingo with an instro band playing, the drummer is wearing a wrestling mask.

Sounds like Los Plantronics

I think you are correct sir, that looks like the same band.
