That's awesome Josh.
It's still a rush to me and amazing to play live and share your love of playing and music with others and I still believe, as many other here, that nothing improves our skills better than live performance and playing with others.
Congrats on stepping out!

Going to see live music, usually in a small club, where I can watch the players closely. If there is a good guitar player, in any style, I get inspired. A turning point for me was years ago, watching Blue Oyster Cult in a small club. I basically stood in front of Buck Dharma while he showed me how to play live - how to use dynamics, how to use effects, interact with the audience, etc. I even scored a pick which I used for years! lol

Made Eddie K a better player.............that's pretty optimistic.

1) Playing live is definitely number one. Even if you are petrified to get in front of an audience, do it. Do it at an open mic with a couple of others. My experience is you are a lot better than you think if you are even considering going live.
2) Recording. Red light disease is insidious but it really makes you a more technically proficient player
3) Practice. Not playing. Practice. This means playing stuff you don't know how/can't play. it is amazing how fast you pick something up when you actually work on thinks you can't play.
Rehearsal with the band. My band is a cover band but you still gotta know your part or you get reamed by your bandmates. This is highly motivational.

Haha! eddiekatcher I've never been down to Oak Island to search for the infamous buried treasure. It's an amazing Nova Scotia legend that never dies. Could it be true...?
