Permalink WTB/WTT – 12" 8 ohm Neo Speakers or the like

New Topic

I sold my stock Jensens and am looking for new life for my SF Twin and Gibson Deluxe-Analog. Anyone looking to unload some drivers? If you are local to SoCal, even better.

Squink Out!

JO, I have a pair of Weber Neo 12s. Cast frame, aluminum dust covers, light dope I think, 8 ohm. They would work well in a clean amp like your Twin. I really enjoy the Neo 15s I have in my Showman cab.

Keep it Drippy Brothers and Sisters!

I made a local deal here in Los Feliz and got an Altec 417 12" and 421 15" in separate closeback cabs. They sound great – super clean, way more hifi than the old Jensens. Haven't tired fuzz and overdrive yet, still digging the clarity they bring to my reverb signal. So much smoother now, no icepick but uncompressed highs and a cavernous bass. The low B on my baritone comes through with utter confidence only hinted at with the 2x12" open back combo. I can also use either 8 ohm speaker cab as an alternate for my Gibson 20w tweed Ranger. The replacement of the JJ 6V6 with a shorter old RCA+Magnavox pair solved the crowding issue there.
Now all I have to do is get a head cab for the Twin and I'm portable.

Squink Out!
