Permalink Major Theft at Fretted Americana

New Topic

"Well this is sad news, 130 vintage and rare guitars have been stolen from Fretted Americana in California, in what sounds like it could be one of the biggest guitar thefts ever."

I thought I'd post this, as some gear might pop up on the bay or even here. Be careful what you buy and check this list for details:

If this has been posted before, I'm sorry. I've searched the forum before posting.

That sucks! Not to mention, all those beautiful guitars are probably getting all scratched up rolling around in the back of a U-Haul truck. I friggin' hate theives.

Be careful following the masses. Sometimes the "M" is silent...........................

I just posted this to my business facebook page. Sometimes these stories don't end too badly when people are on the look out.
I've found friend's stolen instruments and amps in pawn shops and they were returned to them and in the case of some of the Tom Petty, Mike Campbell guitars that were stolen a few years ago.....the guitars were retrieved after the thief tried to sell them.

The length of that list is shocking. The lack of black guards, LP bursts and early Strats make me think they have a vault or extra security measures for those(?) But still, a devastating loss. I hope most or all can be recovered eventually. This is a high profile theft.
