Permalink UNSTEADY FREDDIE's Videos of LOS STRAITJACKETS and SOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS, Brooklyn Bowl, 10-26-13

On October 26 2013 the "Mondo Zombie Boogaloo" tour came through the NYC area. The show took place at a great venue called THE BROOKLYN BOWL.

The bands in this tour are THE FLESHTONES, LOS STRAITJACKETS and SOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS. On this night, this was the order of the bands' appearances. By the way it varies from night to night b/c the bands are actually "co-headlining".

That night I was first celebrating my Mom's Birthday with my Brother and his 3 children. Because of that I did not get to the Brooklyn Bowl until about 845 pm, towards the very end of THE FLESHTONES' set. Thus I did not get to shoot any videos by this band.

Keep in mind this was my first concert after being released from the hospital earlier in the week (October 21st). But that didn't stop me from making my way to the front of the stage to see LOS STRAITJACKETS and then SOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS. Also note I was wearing an open-toes boot! But being LSJ's 'Uber-Fan' I simply just had to be there.

I came away safely, and with me, tucked away in my Magic Camera, were 9 videos, 7 by LSJ and 2 by S.C.O.T.S.

Here they are with direct hyperlinks

Hope you like 'em!

What a killer lineup of acts! 'Shtones, Jackets & SCOTS are a dream bill. Had the good fortune of seeing LSJ last month in New Haven @ Café Nine - they are as great as ever. Thanks for posting, Freddie.

As always, Freddie, you're the King of Video! I saw the show in Philly this past Sunday. Wild, crazy show! And I bought myself the Ritz Carlton tuxedo T-shirt afterwards from the man, himself. If you can get to any remaining shows, I highly recommend it. You'll be so glad you did.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Was at the DC show last night.
It was truly EPIC! (And not in the overused meaningless way the young people use the term these days)

Caught this show at Cat's Cradle in Carrboro last night and it was ON! All three bands kicked major ass and the Lou Reed tribute/finale was an unexpected Halloween treat to be sure.

I'm a huge LS fanboy and I gotta say I love the energy and showmanship that Chris delivers from behind (and in front) of the drumkit. It looks like his luchadore mask features "groucho" glasses, which is a perfect fit since he definitely adds an element of humor.

Catch this show if you can!!!
