Hello !
So, we made a 4 title demo of our music.
It was our first recording experience... hope you will like it.
Noskons is an instrumental group: surf/garage/horror style with movie samples.
Noskons means "No Skunk" (sconse in french) because our goal is to fight with our music the horrible SKUNK GOD and his legions of spleen and dispair.
SO the video:

I like it. It's only my own opinion, but is there maybe there's too much spoken film dialog? The subtitles are great, though. Did you try it first with only the most important dialog heard over the music at the beginning and end? Honestly, maybe it's because I know the film and am familiar with the dialog.
But like I said, I Like it. It's infectious. Congratulations!

Hey, thanks for your kind reply Noel !
Do you mean too much spoken dialogue in the title (song... I don't know how to say it in english) or in the video ? or in both of them ? ^^
Most of time when we play live, the spoken dialogue are realy in the background. In fact, most of our titles are with movie dialogues.
I hope we could record more of them soon.
Recording is a great experience... we are not 100% happy with our surf guitar sound... its is not what we are looking for, we need to improve and find beter recording techniques.

I meant dialog in the video over top of the music in the video's audio mix. Too much in front maybe. I didn't mind the sound of the guitars at all. Overall, I'd say it's a fine first effort. Well-done.

I'd have to agree with Noel, too much movie dialog. It might work fine for this one song, but probably not for every song you record. The music sounds great as well.

I've given this some more thought. This much dialog with music can work if the dialog is made an actual part of the music, like song lyrics instead of random conversation from the film. The music can be arranged accordingly, the way vocal songs are. I think that could be very interesting, using the horror film dialog as song lyrics. Just an idea, but what do you think?

Thanks Brandonio ! on our Bandcamp we have some other titles but most of time here is less movie dialogues on these.
You are right Noel, it could be nice... but hard to do, I think.
When we play live some people likes the movie dialogues some don't. But it is a part of what we are doing... some surf/garage music inspired by a movie, or a movie genre. The dialogues are not used for lyrics but for the mood or for special moment in the songs.
It is not new... the Link Wray's Batman theme for example...
(It may be different because the dialogues seems to be record for the song and may not be original from the Batman serie).
So the hard part is to find the good dialogues for the music or the good music for the dialogues ^^
