Um, I have Windows 8. Yes, I know. Really stupid move on my part. So, I downloaded the comp. It unzips to something completely unusable by Media Player or anything except HP Connect, which creates files I can't actually do anything with that I want to do, like put on a portable player or something. Since I don't actually drive around with my PC connected to my car stereo, this is REALLY annoying!
Help!
Never mind. I tried one thing too many to fix the problem, and now nothing will play it, even HP Connect, so I deleted everything. I'll try again later after I upgrade to Win 8.1, if it ever gets released.
These are the times when I really don't like computers. Or Windows 8.

Niels, email reply sent. And thanks! I ought to mention I have this problem with every music download. The problem isn't with the North Sea Surf Festival comp; it's with Win8. Or me.
To everyone who DOESN'T have a Win8 PC, you ought to get this comp! I played it before I tried to make it Media Player-compatible, and it's fantastic!

Hey Noel, just a thought...with as much time as you spend on the computer, maybe it's time to get a Mac. ; )

I know. I KNOW! especially since I essentially use computers for writing and music.
In any event, Niels got me a copy I can use in Media Player, which is playing it now. It's THAT good!
Thank you, Niels!

Dear all,
Thank you all very much for your positive feedback and support. It makes 5 months of hard work, barely seeing any daylight and nearly breaking up with my girl all worth it The response is overwhelming. We are experiencing some technical difficulties with the software once in a while and had a power outage today so it is not all running smoothly yet but we´ll get there eventually.
Bare with us and keep spreading the word.
Cheers,
Niels.

My next car sound system is going to have a WiFi hotspot so I can play this all the time.
And, yeah, just like the Continental Magazine comps and everyone's podcasts (thanks, Cousin Mary, Whorehay, Clint & Jonpaul, et-al) it makes me want to buy more surf music, not less.

I can't say enough how I love this! I've been doing a lot of work on the site and listening to this non-stop.
Are the times on the programs page UTC / GMT time?

Schelule is in CET so subtract 6 hours for EDT and 9 hours for PDT. Will make a schedule with correct North & South American times soon. Cheers, Niels.

Dude! I find this to be the perfect opportunity to practice listening skills, in fact every other skill possible. Some will be easier, some challenging, some impossible, great way to tackle challenges and grow as a player and musician. You can play along with the Bass line, or the lead, or just sit on the rhythm and improvise, get a feel to what the band was going for, etc. It is immensely educational, I do that randomly with my own collection, but this... is unknown territory!

Listened to about half of Jonpauls' debut on North Sea Surf Music Radio, and that was great! I tuned back in right as he was discussing the Penetrators tribute and played Deception Bay, which was really cool! Thanks for that, Jonpaul!
Have been listening to Niel's spot as DJ for the past 40 minutes, and that's great! I really appreciate having knowledgeable DJs discuss the music they're playing - just having hours upon hours of music without almost any talking gets a bit monotonous on occasion. Niels, Jonpaul and Lorenzo (the DJs whose shows I've heard so far), GREAT job! I really look forward to having your shows to listen to each weekend!

Is anyone here listening to NSSR on their iphones? If so, what player are you using and do you see the song names at all?

Same inquiry as Danny's, only for Android - What app do you use?
I don't listen to Radio other than this, so I do a kinda workaround - downloaded the *.pls file from the NSSR site, made a shortcut for it on the home screen, and whenever I click it it plays automatically in my secondary player, which is Total Commander's.
My my, so much new music, delivered so easily! Amazing times, I'm overwhelmed.
