Q: How many Surf musicians does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None. Surf musicians can’t afford light bulbs.

There are a few ways we can do this, but I'd like to make sure it's cool with everyone involved with running the site and who made the artwork.

For embroidering onto shirts, it's best to use a a twill type shirt like Dickies work shirts or something similar. Retail for dickies shirts is about $18, plus the shipping to and from me, plus the minimal labor I pay the sweat shop kids. (j/k).. this could end up being a spendy endeavor.

Let we see what kind of discounts I can get on bulk pieces so we can maybe order them in quantities. This way if 20 people want a shirt, everyone could pitch in on the lump sum and save time/money.

IMO.

Would a shirt like this work?

Dickies sure are less expensive.

Yes, that panel shirt will work. I just left a message with a wholesale company about ordering them in bulk.. I'll see what happens. If I can get panel shirts for less than the dickies, it would be great. I can do the design on pretty much anything other than leather or lined jackets. Hoodies would be cool too.

If the panel shirt is a go, please make me one! (I wear M.) Yes

Winter's razor at the base of my spine. I don't mind being divinely aligned.

I have received several quotes for panel shirts and none of them are very reasonable. On top of which I would have to add my time/materials & shipping to the cost. It would actually be cheaper if we just found a big company do them on a per order basis, like a company who carries the shirts anyway. I'm waiting to hear back from one of those.

It's risky for me to do them because it something goes wrong and the machine messes up, i'm responsible for replacing it.. and that does happen.

I've been away a while, but I'm in for an SG101 camp shirt, no matter how you do it.

All this talk about using the new sg101 logo on T-shirts made me remember this thread. Anything come of it? I'm still interested if you can do it.

For those unfamiliar with this, since the photo is missing now, it was to put the sg101 logo on camp shirts. On the other hand, his last post here is the one above from August 24.

I made this one for myself quite awhile ago. I can email the prepared digital embroidery file for the logo to anyone who would like to have a local shop stitch them a shirt. I wish that I could do it, but my little machine is slow and bulk orders are just not possible.

Dude! This is one I'll buy! No mercy on the machine. Crank it up!

if you have the digital file for the embroidery you should be able to find a local shop that can do this for you. if you can't find one, check with a local fabric store, they will probably have a list of people who have embroidery machines.

I will PM for the file. We have a couple local shops. They do good work but are lacking in imagination. Thanks for responding to the thread again!
