Hey guys, I just posted this at the Gretschpages. I do believe you guys might be interested on this Bass VI too:
This is a rare bird, maybe more suitable for a collector than for a working musician (like me) but, who knows!
If you search Ebay and GBase you will see the crazy prices. The only one from the 70's out there is a non-original one for $6994. All the pre-CBS are around 6k/7k and the CS are around 4k. The "post-CBS" are sought by Beatles fans because that was what Lennon and George used when recording bass lines (but you guys know that already...). Also, just a few were made in that era.
Anyway, I'm asking $5,500 for mine. It's all original but one new spring that holds the high E saddle. Also, there's no case.
Everything else is at the right place. There are two chips on the back and that's it. It had very little play time. The neck looks like new and the frets are totally fine.
I have plenty of detail pictures. Just ask me.
I have no idea about shipping this guy. I can buy a Fender hard case and ship it with it, I guess. I can drive around the SF Bay Area too. I love local deals.
Hopefully this one will go to a good home!
