These kids played right before us at the Rat Fink Party yesterday. I'm guessing these guys are 16 to 18 years old. The drummer looks like he's pushin' 15. I managed to video with my cell phone the tail end of their version of Slacktone's "Tidal Wave" which they did a killer job on, and then they blasted off to "Miserlou". Nice.

COOL! This is what surf needs, young guys out there playing the music. And really well too.

The Sneaky Tikis formed at the first Sierra Surf Band Camp in 2012. They were there again this year to perform after a stellar year of gigs up in Central California. They are an excellent band, not to be missed if they show up anywhere near you. This is what the Sierra Surf Band Camp is all about...passing the surf instrumental torch to the youngsters. Keep your eyes out for information regarding the 2014 band camp next June. It got better this year and will be even more spectacular next year.

Word has it another band has formed in the bay area as a result of two Sierra Surf campers getting together. We're getting quite a track record already.

Ah. That explains it. Very cool. No wonder that drummer had the Dusty moves goin'. Nice.

I find it odd that none of the band members posted
Here on SG101 that they were coming down from
Nor. Cal. To play this gig in So. Cal.

I forgot. I grabbed "Wipeout" too. For some reason my cell phone kept veering off to a blonde in light blue shorts. Smile
