1968 Fender Dual Showman Amp - 85 RMS Watts, with 2 JBL E-130 15" Speakers in original Cab. AB763 Circuit. Amp has been well-maintained in top working order. This amp is Blackface, and has the original Blackface AB-763 circuit. All numbers are from early 1968. Websites with info on dating vintage Fender amps, are included with the photos.
[Anyone who has the mistaken belief that the Silverface amps began immediately in 1968, is WRONG. According to two Fender aficionados/historians, the "Transitional Period" continued into 1969, and a number of 1968 amps were still built to 1967 specs. This is one. I've saved, (and can email you) a html file of a current C/L listing, of a 1969 Fender Silverface Super Reverb, in which this information is corroborated by that seller.]
Cosmetics are VG. Electronics is Near Mint where it counts: Reliability, Sound, and TONE. The new owner shouldn't be concerned anytime soon, with wearout of components, including the Fender Label 6L6 GC Power tubes and the Groove Tube preamp tubes, which have had the lightest of use since installation and amp bias adjustment a few years ago. The amp runs clean and quiet, and is advertised and sold AS-IS.
This vintage hand-wired Fender amp, with two premium JBL speakers, is priced over $600.00 BELOW Fender's price for a REISSUE Twin Reverb (with cheap printed circuit board, cheap Eminence speakers, and cost-cutting shortcuts). Vintage amp aficionados told me the price should satisfy even a dedicated low-baller.
