I have to admit, when I first read this thread I thought "good luck" but you did a damn good job!
A few years back I re-covered a '50s tweed Princeton that someone had spray-painted black (probably in the '70s when that was cool) unfortunately the paint could not be removed as it had an affinity for the lacquer used on the tweed.

Thanks. I had a '58 tweed Deluxe that got the spray can treatment. No way to clean that up. It soaked right into the tweed. I took it to Sam Hutton when he was living in Fullerton and had him recover it. It looked great when he got done with it.

I once took black paint off the tolex of a brown pro using duct tape... kinda like bikini waxing... without the screaming girl sounds...
But Tom, the sounds are the best part!!!!
