... anyone have a schematic? It'd be even cooler if you had one that actually had functioning tone controls! Ha. I don't mind installing a mini-switch or a push/pull knob. Either way works for me!

No, I don't have a schematic.

I do have a Custom Shop Dick Dale Signature Strat. I would be glad to make a drawing of the electronics for you or photos. Would that help?

Talk to you later,
Norm

That would be awesome, but before pulling things apart maybe someone will have a link to one already available. I'd hate for you to do extra work if it isn't required!

Just found that. It's supposed to be the DD signature strat wiring schem, but I have no idea if it's correct.

More info there.

Hope those show you what you need. If you have any questions or need a different photo, just let me know.

That diagram has some issues. The two way switch on my DD Strat has only 2 leads running from the 3-way switch. If I interpret that diagram correctly, that toggle switch will activate the bridge and middle pickups together anytime it is thrown. Also, it looks to me that the volume pot is activated only by the toggle switch. Switch off and no volume control.

The switch on the DD Strat is not that way. It is a switch that by-passes position 3 on the 3-way switch to engage the neck and middle pickups together. The volume control works on my DD Strat wherther the 2-way switch is off or on.

Tou can verify that by reading the specs for the guitar at Fender's web site.

Thanks for the pics! That is super appreciated!

Glad to help. If you need any more information, just ask. The article linked in that answer with the diagrag is pretty inaccurate as you can see. I tried to take photos from different angles so you can get a good idea how the wires run.

you could always make a strat with middle and neck pickups connected to a volume control that would be cool. most guitarist play only one position on the switch anyway and with surf guitar that would work just great.....

Check out Guitarnutz forum. Folks there are really knowledgeable and free with helpful advice. I asked about a scheme and someone made an accurate drawing in color for me right away. Following the drawing exactly, I got good results

Squink Out!

With all of the schematics on the Fender support page, why that one isn't listed is beyond me.....

Yeah I wonder why it's not some big secret or something if you write dick he will tell you himself....... But since he went to that switch format he almost always uses it cause there is no noise that's why I said just hook up the two pickups and one volume.......
