The Pilgrims have always been dear to me and I've seen them more times than I've seen any other band, by far. It was a real shock hearing that we lost Dave and was nice to hear people talking about him today. From La Luna to the Doug Fir to the Kenton Club to the Kennedy School, the Pilgrims have always brought the good times with them and put asses on the dance floor, without exception. I really treasure the memories of watching Dave and the guys up there laying down a satanic wall of pilgrimation and feeling it in my bones. My friend told me we talked to Dave after a show once in the old days but aside from that I never met him, yet his passing feels like the loss of an old familiar landmark. I wish I had had the opportunity to keep the party going until 2:00 am with him. I almost met him once when he passed by me in Fred Meyer. I didn't say anything but immediately regretted not deploying my best John Wayne with a, "Hey there, Pilgrim..." Top
