Very cool show this week, Jonpaul! I only listened to the podcast yesterday on my way to work and back. I really should get Bat Attack by the Vampires; I remembered seeing them one time in 2004, when they played with the Baywatchers. Very loud show, a friend of mine was actually afraid of getting tinnitus... didn't happen of course. I especially liked the Pulp Fiction segment, since I only recently talked to one of my friends about the surf songs, which were not on the soundtrack (and he wouldn't believe me there were any). By the way, did you edit out the F-bombs yourself or are they this way on the US release? I also was surprised by the amount of German spoken in this episode... and puzzled by the announcer on the Spotnicks' record, who claimed they started their career in Berlin (that's the kind of mix-up you really want on your multi-LP live album). —Los Apollos - cinematic surf music trio (Berlin) |
