Thanks for listening! I'm trying something new this week and posting the playlist to Facebook. If you're interested, please like the page so you can follow. Apologies to any band or label that didn't get an active link. For some, it just wouldn't link--totally out of my control. And in the interest of time (or rather, not having any), I'm just going to do a quick and dirty copy and paste from the Facebook to this thread. At least this will ensure being able to post the playlist weekly. Listening to the podcast at the moment. Very nice! I haven't heard much from Tikiyaki Orchestra till now, but it is growing on me. —Los Apollos - cinematic surf music trio (Berlin) |

I'm a little late on this, but I just listened to the archived version of the show from July 4th and was immediately transported back to Livorno. I was also suprised to hear the Splashdowns on the show, of which I have one very fond memory: When we played in Hamburg last year, we invited them to come to the show via FB, and actually the whole band showed up! And they danced! We actually talked about playing some shows together afterwards, but then they had some problems keeping a stable line up together and nothing came of it... I should perhaps get in contact with them again! Sidenote: You probably know this anyway, Jonpaul, but the Splashdowns were originally founded by Thomas Ritter, who played bass in the Looney Tunes and runs String Records. And he also produced the Kilaueas' "Profesor Vulcanova" album. —Los Apollos - cinematic surf music trio (Berlin) |
