Permalink New old Framus Strato deLuxe (strat/jazzmaster from Germany)

New Topic

They started to make this old stuff again, I don't know why this modell, (I think) mine looks better..

Strange stuff, lot of switches, and an onboard tremolo

original compositions (low-level demo stuff /out of tune, etc) myStuff not my best, but i don't like to be in a musician community without anything to show

Framus made some great instruments. My first electric was very similar to the one in the picture, except that it had only 2 pickups and they are both angled like a strat bridge pickup (with an unused third angled routing under the guard).
While the neck is very similar in dimensions to that of a Mosrite, it feels quite dead, because of the special ply-wood construction. So if the new ones have solid necks that would be a real improvement. That said, I once tested one of the “new” Hollywoods (more like an updated Television than a vintage Framus Hollywood), it certainly didn’t sound and feel worth the asking price of € 1200,–. That was several years ago, however.

The Exotic Guitar of Kahuna Kawentzmann

You can get the boy out of the Keynes era, but you can’t get the Keynes era out of the boy.

Me want! Drool But I can't find a price anywhere for the strato deluxe

Interesting, I didn't know they were doing a reissue.

Me want too! I also want the Earl Slick model with P90s and Bigsby.

Either you surf, or you fight.

I think it's really cool they're reissueing old, obscure guitars like the strato deluxe. I've never played one but man they sure look better than a jag (IMO). Hoping they're not too expensive and have an equally retro, period correct case.
