Have you thought about bringing it into a local guitar shop that deals online and putting it up for consignment? They will take 15% or so, but they'll be able to get a lot more for it than you will on webforums.

To people on this board and other web forums, it is worth probably $3-3.5K. But with the amazing condition it is in a dealer could probably get $5.5K for it, it would need higher quality photos, more detailed photos(guard needs to come off and every component photographed so you can read the dates on them), and a nice write-up/description. Guitars like this that clearly have not been exposed to oxygen will command a premium, but only 1% of the guitar buying population is willing to pay a premium, so you really gotta get it in the hands of people that will get it to a wide audience that are able to take the photos that need to be taken.

You have a very cool guitar there! Best of luck with it.

I appreciate the advice, but I'm not going to bother with shops. Too far from proper vintage shops. My vintage shop in my city never sells anything.

That first ebay link you sent was a refinished body with a later hard shell case by the way so I don't think that is relevant to this sale.

These are selling at 3999 if they have wear on the back but a nice front. I agree that a worn one is around 2800-3500 but this one is almost mint with all the goodies in the case.

I don't really want this thread to turn into a discussion of how much these go for or what it's worth to you, him or that guy. This is not your typical ebay auction player guitar that's had a billion different owners. Everything is original and it's rarely left the house.

Best Offer takes it

Well, I for one hope it finds the right buyer. And I'm aware of a far more expensive '66, so who knows? I have to buy more lottery tickets!

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Didn't realize that one was a refin! It wasn't my intention to discuss the price, just pointing out that there is a limited market and this board probably isn't the right place for that sort of collector's piece.

It is really awesome though!

I know what you mean. I thought maybe it would get some attention since it's the typical surf guitar

I sold it today and got a fair price.

Cheers
