Pool riding and downhill legend Don "Waldo" Autry passed away yesterday morning. I met Waldo when I was 13 riding pools in Long Beach & around the South Bay with my friend Doug Schneider. One of the coolest and craziest skaters ever. He was recently involved in the making of the documentary "Signal Hill Speed Run" Rest in peace my friend.

RIP waldo....he was one of the first I can remember seeing ( pictures ) skating well over vertical in pipes. He just looked glued up there at 10 and 2 oclock or more...revolutionary at the time.I would buy every copy of Skateboarder back in the late 70s /early 80s and he was a giant .
Looking forward to that documentary

A quick update: the amazing Signal Hill Speed Run documentary DVD is available now, here's the info from their FACEBOOK PAGE.
"If you would like to purchase a DVD and live in the USA, you can paypal $13.00 to info@tunnelskateboards.com If you live in California, the total is $13.95 If you want to buy more copies or are living outside of the USA, please email to info@tunnelskateboards.com and we can tell you the total."
Waldo has a great segment which really drives home the insanity of the whole event. Highly recommended for all skaters and any extreme sports fan!
