Permalink Posting Original Demos? Is There A Place?

New Topic

New to the site, but a long time fan of all things instrumental. It all started when I was in junior high and discovered my parents had a pretty hip record collection: Martin Denny, Les Baxter, Herb Alpert...then I found The Ventures, the gateway drug that led to a Dick Dale addiction and a really bad Link Wray problem.

I'm just a hobby player but I've got a bunch of unfinished demos and riffs from the past twenty-two years.

Is there a spot on this site you can post stuff like that for honest feedback, good or bad?

Thanks!

There is an upload section I believe, but I would suggest soundcloud.com

On soundcloud you can choose to make links private so only people with the link you generate can see your songs, or you can have anybody be able to find your songs on soundcloud.

Welcome to the site Pipeline50. Feel free to upload and start at thread asking for feedback. I suggest you checkout the Cocktail Preachers, a great Chicago based surf band.

Hi and welcome. We do have a downloads section of the site, check the left sidebar. You can also upload your own download. Confused? Smile

Ok, I found the Download page. Thanks!

Some pretty impressive demos there. I think I'll sneak one in here first. Any feedback would be great, good or bad...I'm still learning to play after all these years and I don't know anything about song construction...

This is unfinished and I'm playing two guitars, bass, and drums. They are all vintage Japanese from the 60's...Teisco, Norma, and Star drums (became Tama).
I don't know why, but I love these crappy instruments!

I'm digging that Wahini Beach Demo!

Can't help but notice the video title on YouTube and that you're in Chicago. Any connection to The Reluctant Aquanauts?

El Mirage @ ReverbNation

No connection, but they are a fine band. I'm just one guy in the basement with a Mac and some kitschy instruments...but glad you dug it.

I got the name from the old TV show, The Aquanauts...CBS, 1960-1

I liked it. Got more?

Really cool! I like it a lot and those "crappy" instruments sound great.

Either you surf, or you fight.

Yeah, I got more laying around...I can never seem to figure out the middle sections, so this is far as I ever get.

Done in GarageBand with a drum loop and some Teiscos...

I shot this footage off the pier in Newport Beach...

That footage was shot way back in March 2003 while there on business. The original footage looks much better than this. The compression got a little funky in the edit...
