Yes, a cool video that sounds amazing. He plays through his Carr amp. Gotta love that guy and his tone!

That's just wonderful. My daughter had just sat down beside me as I saw this, and I sang it to her as Bill played. My key and everything. There are two very happy people here right now. Thanks for sharing this.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Bill's fantastic.

Beautiful. I love when a tune can step away from its original performance and be reinterpreted into something equally or more beautiful.

It's truly all in the hands.

I love Bill's playing...saw this clip earlier today. I have a cassette recording of a NPR radio show from the early 90s of Bill playing Christmas tunes...gotta find that and share with my SG101 brothers and sisters.

Love the story he tells and that playing is just sensational. He hits some of those dissonant chords & notes that if it were anyone else you'd think "clam!", but this is just so rich with textures/tones, space, and harmonics - it's just magical. Really enjoyed that!

I'm so much more impressed by Bill Frisell the <person who plays music on guitar> than I am many people who claim to speak truth (even religious truth). There is something about his playing that sounds like it's just about to end at any moment, like it's summing up things that have been said before, and resolving them. it's just who he is, coming out in a transparent musical expression. No pretense or flash, all content.

Squink Out!
