Sold!

Wow! No one is interested???
Is my price to high?
Everyone broke?
This is a very nice guitar. Not abused or anything. All original except the Mastery Bridge, and even the original bridge is included.

Joel

I think everyone's broke. Or maybe just me. It looks phenomenal, you just might have to wait a little bit to move it at a price you'd like.

Looks like a great ax, but for $1200 you're getting close to brand new price.

I've had to put everything on FLEAbay and was able to sell it. Of all of the equipment I've sold, ALL of it went overseas aside from one of the Showman amps. That would be my recommendation. I always list here first and when there's no interest move things there. If you don't mind sending to Europe or Australia, that seems to be where people are buying.

I do quite a bit of selling and buying, not just on ebay, and not just guitars, but for a real job. I've noticed that things are a little slow right now, but now that the elections are over, I'm hoping things speed back up.

Our pool of potential customers here on sG101 is pretty small, so don't get discouraged that no one here has shown an interest.

Great looking guitar, and a rare color too. Be patient Joel, it'll sell for your price, esp. with the mastery bridge and that boss strap. Big Grin

I think a lot of people are moderating their spending not just due to the economy but in anticipation of looming tax increases in 2013. In Ca for example prop 30 just past. I'm reading that this will increase my yearly tax liability by $3600. That's a lot of nice gear. My comment is not meant to be political, simply an observation of the current economic climate. I'd love to own your guitar. Normally i'd buy something like that in a heart beat but now I have to be practical.

I'll just add that I'm broke as well. Pocket full of money....different story!

As far as my recent guitar purchases, all have been under $800.

Thanks for the replies guys. I know a lot of folks are broke. And there are a lot of taxes coming up for many folks.
I don't think the price is all that off though. The listing at my Guitar Center is $1699.99 new, But it is not for an '62 AVRI' It is just for the 'Fender '62 Jazzmaster Electric Guitar 'in sunburst , black or white. These are a different guitar I believe.
I don't believe they are making a guitar called 'American Vintage Re-issue' any longer.I could be wrong here though. The color is rare also. I had to find this one in New York and have Sam Ash send it back to California for me. It was new in the original box and was found in the warehouse back there. I looked for quite a while before I found the color.
Well I'll let it ride and see what happens.
I'm going to be listing some other items too and I'll see where that goes.
Thanks
Joel

Great price but keeping a roof over your head and taking care of the family has to be a priority.

Absolutely! That is getting harder and harder to do every day. Guitars, Amp's and such are all extras in life when the economy is in such a mess.

It's a beauty. Good luck.

Just in case someone outside SoCal wants to buy this, will you ship within lower 48? Also, is that scratch through the color or is it maybe shallow enough to buff out?

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Actually Noel I dont have a problem shipping the guitar, but I just dont know how to do it. I used to make custom made leather goods. I have always found that the customer sees one thing, and I see another.
As to shipping the guitar,, How does the seller get the money and customer have satisfaction with the guitar with out seeing it in person first?
I'm open to suggestions. So I guess I would be happy to ship to the lower 48 if it is a square deal on both ends.

As to the scratch.
I don't know if it can be buffed out. I think it might be to deep to do without distorting the painted area. I have never buffed one out before.
I don't think it goes all the way to the wood, but I could be wrong.

My local guitar store always has some boxes around that guitars and cases are shipped in. Paul lets people use them to ship stuff if he doesn't need them and maybe one near you will do the same. Or you can buy them online here. http://www.uline.com/BL_7906/Guitar-Boxes

It's safer to get a slightly oversize box that lets you wrap the guitar case in a lot of bubble wrap. That way there's some s safety zone for some crush. Full value replacement insurance is mandatory.

As for the scratch, a sharply-focused closeup picture will help if you can manage one. While it's is in an area that doesn't show, it may bother someone who wants a completely pristine guitar for that money.

Any shipper can give you approximate prices based on size and weight, or you can just add $55 and that ought to be close, I think. If it's too high, you can refund through PayPal.

I hope this helps. It's a very nice and highly desireable guitar is a great color. All the best with it.

Hi all,
Just to touch base. I am not looking to trade at all. I am eliminating my Guitars due to arthritis in my hands. It's not very comfortable to play anymore, and I am having trouble making cords. So that is why I am selling my stuff.
Thanks for the interest.

Joel

In the event you are unable to locate a local buyer and have to ship it, you might consider having your local UPS store package it for shipping, they will guarantee it against damage 100%. I shipped several Showman amps to Spain and Italy via UPS in this manner. They arrived on time and without a scratch. Hope this info is useful.

HBkahuna.
Thanks for the tip!
What do you do if the buyer decides after seeing the item that they dont want it for some reason? How do you collect the money from the buyer?
Again thanks for the tip. If I need to ship the guitar I will use the UPS idea.

Joel

I LOVE that color. Oh man... I wish I had the dough for this.

Good luck with the sale!

Thanks for the encouragement josheboy.
I wish you had the dough for it too! Yes
