Hey Noel, big congrats on that. Your original post got me looking into these amps a little bit and they are extremely well thought-of by most of the people I've talked to. Post clips if you can!

I almost didn't get it. I swung into the store to discuss pickup and a guy was in there doing some serious trading. He had just tried to buy it but was told I had already had. Whew!
Oh, and thanks everyone for helping me make this decision. I'm already pretty glad I did.

Our other guitarist uses a MM115-65 and it's really a great stage amp imo. I'd snap one up in a minute for the right price. He did a little work on his and I forget the details but do know he installed a new reverb pan and tweaked the reverb circut. Maybe he'll see this and chime in?
Nice score!
here's a good resource for ya

BTW, that guy that tried to buy my amp; he has a house full of vintage Fender amps. Anyone want me to followup and see if he's ready to sell some of it?

Just brought it home. I guess I have to rename this topic. I took off the wheels. I won't be needing them here.

Okay. That's just scary. It has an on switch with both "Lo" and "Hi" settings. I get to play this beasty with it's volume set between 7 and 10 and my guitars set where ever their pickups sound best. The amp sounds just as terrific at home at reasonably loud volumes as it did at the guitar store at unreasonably loud volumes. Even on "Lo" it still has amazingly wet reverb that drips deep and clear when I palm-mute it. What it doesn't have is an effects loop or power amp in jack.
All in all though my Quilter is still my go-anywhere anytime amp, and not just because my left arm would come out of its' socket if I tried to put the MM in my van. It really holds its' own against this amp. Now, that's amazing!

I hate the fact that you're making me curious about the Quilter...not going down the solid state path again...not gonna do it. Sounds damn good when Matt Quilter's playing it though:)

Update. I've played the 212 exclusively today. Using it on the Low Ppower setting. Amp Volume on 7 and Strat (neck and bridge pickups at 50-50) between 5 and 8 depending. I'm amazed at how great it sounds.
In the store I only played it on High Power but with it's Volume set to 4 or 5. It sounds even better here. I'll wait until no one's home before I switch it to High Power and set the Volume to 7 or higher. Probably ought to get some distance from the amp too before I turn it up all the way, huh?
All this said, I'm not selling my Quilter because I can carry it myself and it really does sound terrific, even compared to the Music Monster. If I need it to be louder or deeper, I can add their extension cab.
All I can say is, if you ever find one of these things in good working order, buy it. You will be extremely happy you did.
So, who wants to come over and play it?

Okay, the house emptied BEFORE I played the Music Monster on Hi power. Did I say is is extremely loud? I am SO glad it has the Lo power setting for home use. But I gotta say it sounds even more incredible on Hi. Rich. Full. Clean. Crisp. And when I pushed the volume it added some grit or crunch or something dirty that sounded just right. It made the floor shake. Literally. I am so glad I can actually open this amp up occasionally. But, mostly I'll use it on Lo when I use it, and mostly I'll still use my Quilter.
So, anyone want to come over to play it now?

I didn't want to derail an ongoing topic about another amp, so I thought I'd ask my questions here.
All the recent discussions about "blackfacing" Fender Silverface Twin Reverbs got me real curious about this amp. It has many features that are similar to and different from the big Fender. Mine's early enough that it still uses a preamp tube. It has a Master Volume knob. And, it has the wonderfully useful Hi-Lo On switch. I'm interested in what important differences exist between it and Fender Twin Reverbs of the same or previous eras? Did Fender change their Twins in response to these amps?
Has anyone here owned or played both in any of their several variations? Which Fender Twin Reverb is it closest to? Everyone says to just leave the Fender Master Volume on 10. I've started doing it on my Music Monster, but MUST turn it on using the lower power setting in the house or else I risk bringing down the roof.
Thanks.

Fun to read you wax rhapsodic over the Man! My first amp was a 112 65 with ss preamp & master vol.that my bro-in-law gave me. Awesome amp with great preamp drive. Eventually the speaker gave up and I replaced it with something like a Celestion and gave it to my nephew who calls it his baby some 15 years later.
Last yr I helped a buddy get a late model 212 130, with ss preamp and built in phaser for something like $375. Killer amp for surf with all that massive headroom.
Leo's own later amp designs are in many ways more Fender than Fender (FMIC). Music Man is still a bargain in a world of inflating gear prices. They only lack the Fender logo!

Can I just say that MusicMan amps did not have tube preamps. The 12AX7 used in the early circuits is a phase splitter, not a preamp. None of the MusicMan amps had tube preamps, they were all solid state preamps with a tube power stage.

Can I also say that I would love one of these amps to replace my Fender Hot Rod....

That's cool. Thanks! I always wondered just how much use a single 12AX7 was to power a tube preamp anyway. About that website, I can't see anything except the front page. Is there more detailed info on the circuitry inside?

Noel - at my last gig, I used my Music Man 1x12 amp, and I set it on top of a 1x15 cabinet (with a Weber California in it) and plugged that cabinet into the MM's extension jack. Big, big tone and punch...and it probably could have been heard all the way in the Poconos if I had wanted to crank it 'way up. The Music Man has a new reverb tank, so the onboard reverb was strong.
