An incredible video, and a band with a whole lot of style and sense of humor! But, did somebody forget to play a melody over all those chords? (That's a personal pet peeve - surf songs where the lead guitar is mostly just playing a chord progression without any melody to speak of....)

Thanks for jazzing my Sunday morning, Danny. I want Los Tiki Phantoms to come to my house!
In this situation, the lack of a melody line over the chord progression didn't trouble me. It had a solid rhythm, and a memorable riff that I can sing, whistle, or hum. Sometimes that works just fine for me.
Plus that video is sooooo cool.
Cheers,
Chuck

I don't know, the video somehow reminded me of early MTV. But the tune kicked ass, coulda used a melody but stood on it own. Just MVHO.

VERY cool!
I thought there was plenty of melody in this song - granted it followed the rhythm track pretty closely, but it's not like there were two guitarists just banging away on open chords or anything like that.
Either way, this is what surf videos should be like, IMHO.

I hold that same pet peeve as Ivan, but regardless of the melody or lack thereof in this instance, the video is way way cool.
And those hands coming out of the ground at the beginning are hilarious.

Not every band can write amazing surf songs.
there has to be 10's and 1' and 5's in al things in life.
I liked the video and the song.
