Permalink Custom spring for an MIJ Jaguar?

New Topic

At the recommendation of someone on the forum, I'm running with 7-string gauge strings on for my 1988 Jag, and I like the sound. I've already purchased and installed a FenderUSA spring for the trem, but it sounds like I get very little detune when I work the arm. I've had my luthier adjust it, but it's clearly a lot less than I get on my 2012 Jag with lighter gauge strings.

It occurs to me that what I need to do is find some mechanical springs of similar dimensions, but different compression, and try those.

Has anyone ever tried this?

Cheers,
The Damnthing
