Hello Ladies and Gentlemen

I'm trying to start up my own band, and seeking a bass player, drummer and maybe another guitarist in the Metro atlanta area. I personally have a heavy eleki influence, but the rest is just the classic groups.. Takeshi Terauchi, Dick Dale, The Ventures, Eddie and the Showmen, The Penetrators, The Volcanoes, Davie Allan and the Arrows, etc.

or email at modrock1992@gmail.com Thanks
or respond here if you like Razz

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

You are in some great company here in Atlanta - lots of great surf bands, I've come to find out!

A few months ago I had no idea there was a surf rock scene anywhere, let alone such a huge one. I loved surf music as a child, but pretty much forgot about it over the decades until I started teaching music & some students wanted to learn Walk Don't Run & Pipeline. Re-learning those tunes rekindled my love for surf & coincidentally, I saw a Craigslist ad for a surf band in my area (almost literally my own backyard) looking for an organ player. I've never played organ, but I wanted to join so badly, I spent all weekend learning every song on their soundcloud page! Smile

Fast forward a handful of weeks & I just saw some amazing surf music at the festival mentioned above in Lilburn. This is really exciting! Best of luck to you & finding your group - I look forward to hearing you guys soon!

Yes! More ATL surf please. You'll be in great company with The Surge, The Mystery Men?, The Intoxicators (partially), MOONBASE, SEXWAX, El Fossil, Stratogeezer, Wake The Kraken (sorry if I missed anyone). Do you have any demos? If so, I could probably give you a couple of leads. It was great meeting you on Saturday, hope to see you soon and most of all, good luck!

The Squares - 1995-2002
The Mystery Men? - 2012-
MOONBASE - 2012-2017
The KBK - 2017-2022
The Frigidaires 2021-
Southern Surf Stomp!

Mick here is indeed a good player; you should check out some of his quickie Youtube demos. Mick, post some here? I am trying to delete all my old emails and don't have any of the ones you've shared, especially since you got the Jaguar, like Black Sand Beach and Golden Guitar (one of my absolute favs).

The Mystery Men?
El Capitan and The Reluctant Sadists

Great stuff Mike. How I wish I lived nearby! I swear I live in one of the worst places for Surf music. Hope that you are playing out real soon.
