Came across this on YouTube. The CP's are playing the Centurion's classic with Bruce playing the sax line on the steel guitar. This is so awesome it gives me chills.

Wow !! Pretty damn good! I like the steel guitar parts pretty clever! I was hoping somebody would cover that song and they nailed it!

They do the best version, hands down. They're the reason I've never pushed us doing it.

Great find Brian! Maybe it's heresy, but I actually like their version better than the original. Very nice!

Wow, I'm flattered Richard & Paul, THANKS!
Also Thanks to Tiki Tim really nice guy. He has a great camera and does some fine photography work. He shot that and I believe he shot some songs this weekend at the Oxford Surf Battle, which may end up on youtube sometime in the near future.

Great Job,
Local So. Cal. band Outerwave does it also, and does a great Job.
Mac plays the solo in the sax part real legato and makes it sound almost like a sax.
I have always thought that the Eliminators should do it also, but they never
took the bait.

Unbelievable cover of a classic! Seriously, I have been listening to it over and over. Do these guys still play and/or post on this forum?

A few years ago Phil, the bass player, moved to Las Vegas, so I don't know if the Cocktail Preachers are still active. Steve still plays in 13 Tikis and maybe some other bands? I've seen them play live many times over the years and they were always an excellent band!

THANKS BRIAN for the compliment. We have recently reformed replacing Phil on Bass with Craig and our drummer Dr. Ben has returned. Bruce & Dr. Ben actually instigated the reformation and so far its been really fun. We will be playing the CATT (Chicago Area Tiki Tour) event this April14th at Hala Kahiki lounge.

What a cool blast from the past. I had forgotten how frickin' cool you guys' version of that tune was (and you guys are in general). Welcome back!
