Yes that is a good amp too, louder than the Blues Jr. |

+1 on the Blues Deluxe. I have one from the 90s that we sometimes use for smaller venue gigs. Recently changed the tubes to the JJ Max Headroom kit offered by Eurotubes and switched the speaker to an Eminence Cannabis Rex. It’s plenty clean and plenty loud. —The Boss Jaguars! |

Hot Rod Deluxe II is my current workhorse. |

I'd recommend a HRD, I have the first version and it's certainly plenty loud. I believe the II is better, but they are much more expensive. Plenty around for a used deal though. Also +1 about the comment about how responsive a tube amp is. When I got my first tube amp, my playing sounded awful - random loud notes, quiet notes, bum notes, no notes. I was really disappointed as I expected my playing to sound better! Bit of practice and it improved though. Eventually. |

I had a Hot Rod Deluxe, and it is a good amp for clean and loud applications. It's among the loudest 40 watt amps I've heard. It'll rattle the fillings out of your teeth! Bob Last edited: Aug 16, 2012 08:51:23 |

I second RobbieReverb's comments on the Hot Rod Deluxe. I have one, and his comments are spot on. —Ralph Be at one with the universe. If you can't do that, at least be at one with your guitar. |
