Boy WAS it hot. We hung in there until the heat just beat the hell out of we "grand old dudes of East Coast surf music!"

After succumbing to the heat we went next door to the Irish Bred Pub and drank beer.............

Thanks to Wayne and everyone that braved the heat and came out to support this great instro/surf event.

See you guys in California in three weeks. We'll start getting hydrated now.

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Sounding great as ever!

It was so hot (105 degrees, no breeze) that Johnny, our crazy, hard-hitting drummer almost passed out so we had to cut our set short. In my 48 years of playing live, that was the hottest day I've ever encountered. We did give it a 100% effort nonetheless.

The Intoxicators followed us, dressed to kill in black suits...coats and ties, for chrisssake! They should get an award for extreme masochism Shock

It was indeed a hot one! The Intoxicators played in their suits, which I thought was nuts. Then we played in our masks, which I also thought was nuts, but we did it anyway. I had to use a backup because mine melted flat in the back of my car. I think the whole event went over really well, and a lot of people hung out the entire time in spite of the heat.

Eddie, did she catch the whole set? I would REALLY like to see "Guns Don't Argue" if she has it. That was the highlight of the set for me. I made a quick trip to the car to grab my mask and shirt and by the time I made it back, it was unfortunately over.

Thanks to all who made the event possible. The 12 hour round-trip was worth it for sure. One high point for me was meeting Mitch, Eddie and Woody. The Surge sounded fantastic!
