Fellow Surf nutz,
I've been playing bass for about three years and finally starting to see some light. Unfortunately finding fellow surf musicians in Maryland to jam and learn with are hard to come by. My buddy Jack plays some good guitar but he's good for about 8 measures then switches songs (ADD and we get nowhere - sigh
I don't think I'm ready for public gigs just yet but I'm getting there. Finding a guitarist/s and drummer seems to be the logical next step to getting there. I can play songs from the Cossacks, Mosquitos, Straitjackets, Ventures, Satan's Pilgrims, etc. (I play other stuff too, like UFO,MSG,Cheap Trick,Classic rock, etc)
I am working on getting a better way to record to my PC....till then I have added a video file with me playing Pacifica along to my bass trainer...its not perfect but I think it gives you an idea of where I'm at - sorry for the lousy quality
Give me a shout if you want to get together and play some tunes

I'm in the same boat, just 8 hours north of you ,MA...None of my musician friends are interested in Surf music and its all I play! so I've been in alternative bands since high school, but hoping one day to land a halfway decnent surf group.

It took me 2 years of steady Craigslist and City Paper ads to find my guys. Handful of wishy washy types and a crapload of no response. Good luck!

Always glad to see another local surf/instrumental enthusiast!
When we're not rehearsing, I'm always up for jamming with fellow surf/instrumental folks.
I live in Frederick but work in Bethesda - PM me for contact info and we'll jam some time.
