So I was at The Ventures show tonight in Bethlehem, PA. They were great, and Nokie's performance of Sleepwalk was almost unbelievably beautiful (edit: and technically flawless), but that isn't the subject of this topic. The opening act was The Great White Caps, a local surf band. It turns out there are a few videos here of them by Unsteady Freddie. These guys are good, really good, and have a lot of fun on stage. I told them after their set that they need to join SG101 and NESMA. I hope they do.

So here is a repeat of one of Freddie's vids and something else filmed in a local television studio that they put on YouTube. Play their other vids as they pop up. These guys are fun.

Thanks for the post man, I joined the site and will figure out the best ways to spread the word!

Welcome to the surf site! There are forums to post vids, list upcoming shows and put them on a calendar of upcoming events, and a place to upload music. Plus lots of topics to discuss and get acquainted with everyone.

Rad tunes, thanks for sharing these Noel! I'd never heard of these guy's until now, definitely dig it though! And MontagtheMagnificent, welcome to the site, I've checked out a few of the videos of you guys on YouTube, outside of the ones Noel posted here of course, and all are quite kool.

-Damon.

Thanks a bunch Damon, I see you are from Oregon which is my old stomping ground. I played in a surf band in Portland for about 4 years called Hammerhead Tsunami, and Portland happens to hold my favorite surf band of all time... Satan's Pilgrims, who I give a shout out to in my tune "Totally Pissed About These Shitty Waves!" check it out

Righteous, love Satan's Pilgrims, just wish I would've been into surf back in the day's when they were playing regularly in this fine State. Kool tune though, definitely dig it and the surfin' footage too. Yeah, I'm here in the Southern section of Oregon (as an ex citizen of Portlandia I'm sure you're fairly well aware o that Big Grin ), not far from the Cali border, and an area completely devoid of Surf music, especially since my old band broke up back in Feb. But anyways, off topic there sorry, ya got a new fan outta me for sure!

I have seen this band live only once, but was overwhelmingly impressed

I was lucky enough to capture them on some videos I shot that day (thanks for posting them here)

I have been chasing these guys trying to get them to come do a SHINDIG

and finally, we are going to work together!!

I am working with a club in ASBURY PARK NJ and will putting on there "UNSTEADY FREDDIE's SURFIN' SAFARI" on June 3 2012 (3 surf bands will perform) -- specifics will be appear in a separate thread under 'Show Announcements' in a couple of days

UNSTEADY FREDDIE

Looking forward to it Freddie!
