Hey there ladies and gents, check out the new demo I posted in the downloads section, called "A Fistful of Sand Dollars." Recorded with my Jazzmaster straight into GarageBand through a USB rig. Working on getting my drum kit miked up so that the rhythm section sounds less like Time-Warner cable on hold music...

Any feedback on the tune would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jordan,

That's really nice, and I'm sure it was meant to be. Mellow and serene. Love the tone. Did you try it using a delay or echo pedal? Doesn't actually need it but you might like the result. Can increase the sense of mystery or haunting-ness if that would be in the direction you were going. I liked it. Thanks for sharing.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Hey another gent from San Antone, welcome!

As far as a suggestion, I'm not sure about the delay/echo, but I definitely think adding some tremolo to the main portion would definitely add a groovy vibe.

But as Noel said, the tone's pretty good, considering you only used the patches in Garageband(I'm assuming.)

It's sounding good so far though, keep it up!

Killer ! I really like it. You're right about the drums sounding a little "digital", but, unless I focus on the drums, they don't distract from the tune. Cool! Cool

Thanks for the feedback! I am currently shopping around for a couple condenser mics to use as overheads on my kit so that I can get some real drum sounds happening. I also considering throwing a mic in front of my Blues Junior to start experimenting with the sounds I can get there, although the Garage Band amp simulators sound decent for what they are. I also am going to probably be buying Logic soon, once I have time to actually really dig into recording.
