thanks Mr. Hay

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Here is a post from Otto(the organizer of Tiki Oasis) on Tiki central
in the SG101 convention thread, about the Barbwires playing at Tiki Oasis 12

Jeff, great line up and thanks for working with me (Tiki Oasis) in trying to cross-book the out of town bands so they can put together a tour. We were able to offer gigs to Los Venturas and The Exotics. Unfortunately, The Barbwires were not able to stay a week in order to make both gigs so they are only playing at Tiki Oasis.

Surf music fans, I cannot encourage you enough to mark this historic show on your calendars.
The Barbwires will be playing tunes from their epic SeaRider CD

http://www.the-barbwires.com/

Mike sent me this photo last week. Summer is near and The Barbwires are excited to play Southern California, but they are only playing this one show - Tiki Oasis Friday night, August 17

Come Spy With Me: Spy Music history with Double Ought Duke
Double Ought Duke, The Duke of Spy Music, will present a discombobulated romp through the history of spy and secret agent music and cover art. Classifications under investigation will include, Spy Films including James Bond, Television Shows, Motion Picture Soundtracks and include look-a-likes and imposters of every known ilk. This covert operation of styles will include Lounge, Jazz, Surf, Novelty, Punk, Electronica and a host of other way-out provocateurs including singing TV celebrities like Barbara Feldon and international star Chan Pao Chu. Most of the graphics imbedded in the cover art are way better than the music, with the cheesier and the sexier, the better. And that’s the fun part. The 60’s spy craze produced hundreds of sights and sounds. 00D, coming out of deep cover for this mission has developed a plot that will be for your TKO eyes and ears only. Your ticket will allow you to hear and see most of them while drinking in lockstep a martini and entering a world of our own. This clandestine gambit will be an ambush on your senses that will have you smirking close to chokepoint. 00D, who is a doppelganger with his less evil twin, last years, The Duke of Redundancy, welcomes all agents of secret coolness to join his branch of spy music and visual madness.

Yeah, it's true. Sadly, Vibes on Velvet had some plans go south and just couldn't make the trip from Colorado this year. It happens. Sucks, though, 'cause Dusty and I were really looking forward to playing with them. I highly encourage anyone to check out their album Thirteen Ways to Ecstacy--really cool stuff!

It looks like King Paris (Rick Vito) is playing the Tiki Oasis. He slayed at Deke's Guitar Geek festival in January. Not surf, but exotic, mostly instrumental music with a lot of killer slide guitar. Highly recommended!
