There is always the possibility of bears. Though it isn't too often that they come around.

There is plenty of room for tents/trailers/RVs. Otherwise you'd be staying in dormitory style bunks.

I'll be bringing my trailer.

will there be bears?

Yes, this includes food. Lodging is dormitory bunks or camping out. Trailers/RVs/tents are all fine. Plenty of room.

So this includes food and lodging too? Hopefully I can
swing it, I need something like this!

This is AMAZING!!! Huge kudos to all involved! May it be a huge success!

Ivan-you HAVE to come so you, Paul, and I can celebrate our mutual Birthday, AND so I can play "Red Sunrise" with you!

Smile Skip, you have no idea how tempted I am! I'm actually free around that time. Well, we'll see, there are a few issues to sort out first...

So, you'll be going?

dang...snap! i read Paul's little pamphlet on this topic, good stuff!

This will be a great time to "hang out" and actually spend quality time with the likes of Paul Johnson, John Blair, Dusty Watson, Ferenc Dobronyi, and others and really get a feel for what drives them! Friendships will be made... lives will be changed... the world will be saved!!!

"That one time at band camp..."

Guitar lessons and songwriting class with Ferenc Dobronyi of Pollo Del Mar and Frankie & The Pool Boys!

I'm there! I hope I can bring La Reya too-depends if she can get off from work-but I'm definitely coming. Those bears better not mess with our Birthday Party!

I'm gonna have to stop reading this thread. This thing is getting too good to miss, and I have to miss it. I hope everyone has a great time.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Applications are now available! Email me at sierrasurfcamp@gmail.com and I will send you the PDF.

Does anyone know how to upload a PDF to the forum here?

I spoke with one "camper" last night- and this is what awaits you

You can't attach a PDF to a forum post, but you could upload it to our Downloads section.

Or just host the file on pyronauts.com (or some other web space that you may have... Dropbox?) and pass out the link everywhere.

Thanks Brian! Surf Camp is a GO GO GO!!!

Class Profile:

Surf Band 101

Surf Band 101 puts campers in band sized classes with a professional "band coach." The idea here is to rehearse a few songs or even write a song or two with the help of one of our pro instructors. Imagine Paul Johnson helping you finish off that new tune you came up with or Dusty Watson showing your group how to really play Wipe Out! Our other band coaches include John Blair, Ron Eglit, Matt Quilter, Ferenc Dobronyi, as well as members of The Pyronauts. Then on Sunday night the groups will have the opportunity to "open" the evening's command performance by Paul Johnson and friends! And Tom Duncan will be videoing the whole thing!

I also want to emphasize that this camp is open to everyone from the seasoned surf musician to the person who is just getting started! It's all about getting together and having FUN!

WOW! At that price you can't afford to miss it! Wife just gave me clearance so I'm there. Trying to talk the whole family into it. Anybody bringing kids? Whats the aquatic dimension? I would love to bring the stand up paddle to share on flatwater. Thanks for putting this together.
