Permalink "Take Five" with Roland GR-20 Saxophone patch on a Strat

New Topic

Hi All,

If you haven't seen it on Youtube, here is my short take on "Take Five" (Dave Brubeck - 1959) with my Roland GR-20 using the Saxophone Alto patch and playing my Mexican Fiesta Red Strat.
I tried to get as close as I could to Paul Desmond's playing, but it is just impossible.
I hope you will find the experiment at least interesting.
I am using a very good quality midi file I found on the Net. I also posted the Dave Brubeck 1959 original so that you can compare the sound too.
We are i/2 tone apart, so it's not pleasant.

Wow. Laughing sounds authentic.

Wow, this sounds fantastic... not just the patch, but the playing/interpretation. And this is coming from a guy who generally dislikes synthesized analog instruments. Well done!

Really great Adbel! I tried that one myself once and failed miserably.

Pretty neat. Possibly evil ... but neat!

Nice one Abdel!
