Ha-ha...I saw that movie on Mystery Science Theater 3000! You can't really tell from that clip but I think the Del Aires had matching white Fenders in the movie; Jag & Jazzmaster, not sure about the bass. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Same here--good episode. Thanks for posting that, KK, I'd almost forgotten about the Del-Aires. -Warren —That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it. |

You guys really need to see the original version of the movie without the Mystery 3000 dorks getting in the way... Anyway, great band and cool movie. I seem to recall it was shot on the east coast which could mean that also the Del-Aires hailed from those parts. In the Daytonas, we bought similar striped shirts after seeing the movie. Our singer/guitarist even started to use the same type of glasses as the small dark guy although he had perfect eye sight! — |

That's the only way the movie is watchable! Well, the Del-Aires make it watchable, but they don't appear all that often. SODIUM, BABY! As for the guy with glasses, one of my favorite MST3K lines is "that guy is late for a beating". But seriously, I like that Hank Marvin look. I was really digging the Del-Aires in the movie. I googled them after I saw this, and I seem to recall that the movie was shot in New Jersey. The Del-Aires were a local band. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Looks like their "album" never happened but they had several singles. Also, did you guys see that Norman from The Ghastly Ones is on the fan mail page? Pretty cool! —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

Interesting, I remember someone over at the GaragePunk.com forums scored a Del-Aires 45 a while ago. And what a scary story about one of their shows: _On the night of August 25th the Del-Aires played the Angel Lounge in Lodi NJ. It had been a particular rowdy show, and the police were called out to put a stop to the racket. As the Del-Aires were pulling out for the night, one of their fans named Thomas "The Rabbi" Trantino assaulted two police officers, forced them to strip naked, and shot them both in the back of the head. Trantino was captured several days later, and was convicted for the murder of Sergeant Peter Voto, 40, and Patrolman Gary Tedesco._ — |

dammit! i wrote a song that my band palys called "the zombie stomp" it's quite different, though. its more inspired by the beach boys' "surfin'" i didnt know it was already a song. oh well, its not, like it really matters. — |

Anyone here with Netflix can get the whole film - My favorite part is when the dude is griping to the Del-Aires that the beach scene has gone quiet ever since his girlfriend got mutilated. Naturally, they tell him to cheer up, it'll pick up again! — |
