G'day
I'm wondering if thers's any other musos in Brisbane, Australia, who are into getting together for a jam. I'm a guitarist influenced by Aussie rock and surf music too - The Break, Atlantics, Celibate Rifles, Sunnyboys, etc. So I'm not strictly purist about being trad surf rock. I like mix in influences from other forms of rock and reggae and blues. Anyway, get in touch if you're interested.
Cheers,
Jim.

Hey Jim, I'm not too far from you (Aspley). Don't get much free time for jamming these days, but always nice to meet a fellow Surf Affectionado!!

PM sent.

Here, I'll play matchmaker - how about you all go here on the weekend:

SUN 27th NOV
Martin Cilia - Live at Bond
ADCO Amphitheatre http://www.bond.edu.au/
Bond University, Gold Coast

Thanks Andrew Smile I knew Martin is playing this gig, but I can't make it because of work. Would be great if he came up to Brisbane some time. He should play at the Hi-Fi. The king of Surf Guitar. You might not agree, but damn listen to what that bloke wrote and the way he still plays! Strewth. Love it. Ah well, one day we'll see him in Brssy, I hope.
Jim.

No worries - we supported him on Thurs night at one of his Melbourne gigs and what an honour that was - he has such a presence on stage and a fantastic sound. He has a flexibility to his style which is often difficult to obtain in surf guitar playing.

Hey did any of you get to go see Martin? Just wondering. I know he was playing a bit of a distance from where some of you are.

Would have loved to have seen him, but I couldn't get down there that day. Ironically, I gigged at the Gold Coast the night before, at a venue less than a mile from him!

Nah I could not make it to that gig. Hope he comes to Brisbane.
