Congratulations on your score, just goes to show that all things come to he who waits Smile

BTW it looks terrific and I've never seen one with white pickups before! I wonder if they are upgraded from originals?

Thanks! Got the originals (black) as well. He changed a lot of things. The pickguard, tremolo arm, pots, etc. And it was cheaper than buying a new one in sunburst.

The Hicadoolas

Okay, after some weeks of testing + our other guitar player got the exact same guitar in black (looks nice on stage) we both decided to put in some P90s. The original ones are 'okayish' but not good. I think this could change a lot. So here's the question:

Can someone suggest some really good/affordable P90s for replacement?
Please keep in mind: The guitar was 300.00$ AND I'm located in Germany.

2nd question: The Vibrato is a cheap Strat rip-off. I would LOVE to have this one replaced as well. As mentioned before, I also own a Mosrite and the Vibrato is quite convincing. Are there any reissue Vibratmutes?

Thanks in advance.

I had an aria diamond a few years ago. With some investment in upgrades I always felt it could become a good guitar.

As far as reissue vibramutes go, there are a few companies out there making them, including Hallmark and M 3 Guitars. However, you are going to spend 150-200 usd on one, which I seriously doubt is an option. Even more, nothing is saying that a vibramute will work on one of these guitars without serious routing and such.

Will this B-5 adapter kit work for you? Just add a B-5 Vibrato. Doesn't need a cavity.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

This guitar isn't set up for a bridge, as it has a strat style vibrato. It would have to be drilled for a bridge if using a bigsby or the Hallmark Vibrato. The M 3 might work but would probably require routing down a bit in order to get an adequet string break angle and low enough action.

I'll swap the Vibramute from my Mosrite then...
JUST KIDDING!
Maybe a good strat vibrato will do the trick - won't look as good though.
Ever switched the PUs? The standard PUs lack of punch/grid/whatever-something-is-missing...Thanks for the help so far!

P.S.: couldn't find the M 3?! Do you have a link maybe? Thanks in advance.

The Hicadoolas

Tempted to buy one on looks alone, I'll never be able to afford a real Mosrite. That I love P90's.

That company M3 Guitars actually makes a Mosrite wound pickup that will fit this guitar exactly. I have heard great things about this companies pickups.

I honestly didn't keep my Aria very long. After I realized the amount of money I was going to have to put into it in order to set it up like I wanted, I returned it and purchased and Eastwood Sidejack, which held me off for about one year before I broke down and bought a Hallmark.

Yeh, got 2 Hallmarks on my 'gas' list as well. But to keep the matching guitars on stage I am willing to put some money in the Aria. Hope I can find good PUs in the EU...sigh

The RH-100/90 is what you are looking for. It is a really good price.

Thanks alot! Now this is very tempting! Do you know the difference between 'unpotted' & 'wax potted'? Sorry for asking all those questions, but I've never modified a guitar before. All I did was buying another strap + strings =)

Edit: Okay, got the point of waxed and unwaxed. Will order unwaxed and have them waxed here if necessary.

That is a very good price for the slash 90 M3 pickups. Will you let us know your opinion of them after you swap them out?

Thanks!

I will do 'before and after' recordings so you can get your own impression.
But I bet/hope/guess this will be a huge improvement. I just email the guys.
Unfortunately they do have some experience with shipping parts to germany...
it takes 4-8 weeks Cry but will be totally worth it, I am sure!

There were some threads, not too long ago, regarding the M3 pickups and the reviews were exceptional. I really do love the pickups in my Hallmark but have almost been convinced to swap them out. I have certainly been convinced to swap out the pickups in my Eastwood, when money permits. (I believe one of the members of Mushugga Beach Party uses these pickups in his custom Hallmark.

This thread has inspired me to start working on my Eastwood Sidejack in the very near future. I want to get the pickups replaced, obviously, but I also want to replace the Jazzmaster Style tremolo with a higher quality one. Does anyone have suggestions on one that would easily drop in and will not break my bank?

Hey Noah, I can't imagine anything better than an AV Jazz/Jag tremolo assembly...I think you could probably get one on eBay for less than $30 at first glance. Having never had anything with that style trem besides an AV or MIJ Jazzmaster/Jaguar, I can't say whether or not that would be an improvement.

You may have to do a little routing on the Sidejack in order to use a JM tailpiece. I put one in my Xaviere offset, which had the Fender knockoff without the trem lock. The route was square so I had to grind out a little notch for the trem lock.
