I like it, I'd try it out if it came to a store near me! I don't have anything against humbuckers or strat-style trems. I have all sorts of guitars, that all get used, and I ENJOY the differences between them. The main beef I have with the cheaper Fender models is I often don't like the neck profiles, often they are too fat for me, or just don't feel right especially on some of the Chinese made Squier models, except on the Classic Vibe Strats and Teles, I like those. http://www.reverbnation.com/spaceparty4 Last edited: Oct 15, 2011 17:46:41 |

I reckon it lo0ks great, body shape and colour and at $395 I'm going to get one for sure. I like strat trems, they work well, but like Jazz trems too (and Bigsbys - just not floyds). The pickups are probably not what I like (high output monsters with no tone - but there are three tapped single coils inside it!!) but I'm sure I can find something that will work - a Jap Jazz P90 I have lying around or a Ibanez Super 70 HB. Why the hell not! |

Marauder was the first Variax Dane_Brammage wrote: — original compositions (low-level demo stuff /out of tune, etc) myStuff not my best, but i don't like to be in a musician community without anything to show |

There were three phases of marauders. The first one was a prototype, a hidden pickup model with relatively simple switching, a jazz trem, and an offset body. The second phase of prototypes were very similar, this time with a strat trem and more switching. The hidden pickup design was not used because of legal disputes between Fender and the inventor, who ended up taking his hidden pickup design to Rickenbacker, where it proved equally unsuccessful. The third was an attempt to redeem the company's mistake of advertising and receiving orders for the model while it was still in the prototype stage. It was a gimmicky guitar, with tons of switches, a mustang trem, a starcaster headstock, three strat pickups, and some had slanted frets. 1st Prototype: 2nd style: 3rd style: Of course, none of those have anything to do with Fender's MIM Marauder you asked about. IMO. |

Gibson made a Marauder too, I had one back in 1979-1980... actually a great sounding and playing guitar. |
