Jeff,

in my opinion the combo was very, very tight (I didn't expect).
Let's say they played a best of mix of all their records.
They didn't bore me for a moment. I was a little afraid they would play too much of their last album, the one I like least.
For me it was a pleasant surprise.
Because of sickness, bongoplayer Jesse couldn't make it for the show, unfortunately...

In their early years I never got tired of them... guess I saw them more than 50 - 60 times. Always rocking, kicking some real ass. They had it all... the sound, the show, crowd appeal, you name it. The combo was musical and visual sex on stage.

I think it would be killer to have them on the convention. But it would cost you lots of money to do so. Second, they have to be able to come over..

Grab their vinyls while you can. Great music and killer art work by Matto.

Cheers,
Andy

Sounds amazing!

Made me cruise YouTube, found 2 substantial videos from 2012.

Someone needs to change the title of this thread from "Fifty Foot Combo RIP" to "Fifty Foot Combo, back from the dead!" Yes

Christoph,
thanks for the review.
yeah I would love to have them, but.....
I can't afford them, and I don't think they would be happy
playing for a bunch of old people sitting in chairs watching them.
Wink

I have all of their cds, except Evil a Go Go,
if you could find that on cd or vinyl,
you would be my hero.

I've run across the band's name and heard some of their music just recently, apparently within days after their last gig. I've managed to get most of their CDs. Still need to get 'Monstro Phonic Sounds'. Great stuff.
